Position Overview:
The Used Vehicle Reconditioning Advisor will oversee the reconditioning process of our used vehicle inventory, ensuring that all vehicles meet our quality standards before they are presented to customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. The ideal candidate will work closely with our service department, sales team, and vendors to facilitate efficient and effective vehicle reconditioning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assessment and Inspection: Conduct comprehensive inspections of used vehicles to identify repair needs and cosmetic enhancements required for reconditioning.
-Reconditioning Strategy: Develop detailed reconditioning plans, including necessary repairs, parts, and labor, ensuring optimal quality and efficiency.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs and reconditioning tasks, maintaining strong relationships to ensure timely service delivery.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the sales team and the service department regarding vehicle readiness, updates on the reconditioning process, and timeline expectations.
- Quality Control: Oversee the quality assurance process post-reconditioning to guarantee that all vehicles meet company standards for safety and aesthetics before being presented for sale.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of reconditioning activities, costs, and timelines within our dealership management systems.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition and reconditioning details, providing transparency and building trust.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in the reconditioning workflow and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certification or degree preferred.
- Proven experience in automotive repair, reconditioning, or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, repair processes, and detailing techniques.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
